Helping Plantar Fasciitis

Make sure to wear your orthotics as prescribed. It is important to phase them in- to allow your body to adjust to corrections in gait.

Wear comfortable shoes that fit well. Shoes with a firm, rigid heel give the best stability for your foot. Shoes with a thick rubber sole for shock absorption are best. Low heeled shoes reduce excess weight on the “ball” on the foot and reduce the strain to your lumbar spine.

Put your feet up when you get the chance to do so to alleviate blood pooling that occurs in your calves by standing.

Stretch out your calves and Achilles tendons.

Roll a tennis ball under your foot to massage the plantar fascia.

Ice the bottoms of your feet after strenuous activity.

See your chiropractor to have a foot assessment to help fix any joint/muscle problems before they become bigger.
